Role of The Annie E. Casey Foundation

The Annie E. Casey Foundation is the founding organization of the Making Connections initiative.  As lead partner, the Foundation assists Making Connections Providence in leveraging resources for future sustainability, and provides critical technical resources and guidance to achieve core results in our neighborhoods.  Providence is one of 10 sites supported by the Annie E. Casey Foundation to participate in these neighborhood transformation efforts.  Started in 1999, Making Connections Providence is part of a multi-year Foundation commitment to the residents of the Elmwood, South Providence and West End neighborhoods to provide these resources and technical assistance to improve outcomes for families and children.

The Annie E, Casey Foundation is a private charitable organization dedicated to helping build better futures for disadvantaged children across the United States. The primary mission is to foster public policy, human services, reforms and community support that more effectively meet the needs of today’s vulnerable children and families.

In pursuit of that goal, the Casey Foundation makes grants that help states, cities and neighborhoods fashion more innovative and cost effective responses to these needs.
